ABOUT THE RESIDENCY

 

The .abeceda [New Music Academy] programme treats an artistic paradigm as a coherent relation among materials, methods, forms, media, performance, and listening. “Advanced” describes a proposition’s precision and consequence, not its novelty, complexity, or technology alone.

 

Each composer develops one work for one formation: solo, string quartet, chamber ensemble, symphony orchestra, or choir. Online exchange examines shifts in material, temporality, space, embodiment, technology, authorship, performer agency, and modes of listening. Rehearsal tests whether propositions remain legible, performable, and necessary when realised through sound, action, interpretation, and shared attention.

 

Through composition, analysis, rehearsal, critical reflection, and public presentation, the programme develops practices that transform artistic premises into perceptible, performable form. Each composer leaves with a premiered work, professional documentation, refined methods, and lasting collaborative relationships.
