RESIDENCY PROGRAM FOR COMPOSERS

[April - June 2026]

 

 

As a participating composer, you will:

 

- Join a three-month residency program dedicated to contemporary composition.

- Present your artistic practice in online seminars and engage in open discussions with ensemble performers.

- Learn from the diverse perspectives and working methods of fellow composers.

- Compose a new work for the .abeceda [New Music Ensemble] or the .abeceda [String Quartet].

- Present your work-in-progress during online sessions and receive feedback from peers and performers.

- Collaborate closely with the ensemble during rehearsals in Bled, Slovenia, to prepare your work for performance.

- Attend the premiere of your new work at Cukrarna Gallery, Ljubljana, as part of the opening concerts of the sixth Bled Contemporary Music Week.

- Receive professional video and audio documentation of your performance.

- Benefit from networking with an international community of composers and performers.

- (Optional) Participate in Bled Contemporary Music Week (June 19–26, 2026), where you can attend lectures, symposia, and concerts, and connect with researchers, artists, and ensembles, fostering new opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and visibility.

 

Participants unable to attend in person due to travel constraints may take part online (rehearsals via Zoom and live-streamed performances on YouTube).
